Survey, civil, utility, and municipal design firms hire us for pre-construction test holes and QL-A daylighting field work. CUF does not stamp drawings — we bring the field half of the SUE team so your PE can work through the design with verified depth, material, and conflict data.

Quality A Potholing

  • We’re the field half of a SUE team — we expose and document; your PE handles survey and stamps. CUF does not stamp drawings.
  • Plan-and-profile / pre-construction test holes — verify alignments, depths, and conflicts to enable accurate engineering before the job goes to bid.
  • Road improvements, waterline, fiber, storm, and wastewater alignments — anywhere you need verified utility data to aid in design.

Deliverables

You get a marked hole and a record of what was in it — tuned for design work.

In the field

We always mark the surface. Paint and PVC sticks, with what we found written on the stick. On hard surfaces we paint what we found on the pavement. Marks are clear so survey or engineers can tell where utilities were found.

Data table

We send a soft copy Excel table of compiled field data which includes all essential data and comments.
