FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about what we do — and what we don’t. Need a quote? Use the estimate form or call the office.

How fast is an estimate and scheduling?

Estimates are usually back within 24 hours of receiving a request; we reach out if we need clarification. Without permitting, we try to keep the schedule loose enough to do work within about a week after notice to proceed. With permitting, we move at the speed of the permit — often a couple of weeks — and we run 811 tickets and prep during that wait so we are ready when it drops. Rate sheets and typical estimate terms are under Downloads on the Design and Construction pages.

Do you provide survey or stamped drawings?

No. We bring the potholing. We typically work as part of a team with survey and engineering firms to get the full SUE package completed. Your PE stamps; we find and expose the utility in the field. Engineering capability, rates, and terms are on the Design downloads page.

Are you able to provide photo logs?

Photo logs are available as requested for an additional administrative fee. Sample pothole logs are in the Design downloads. Photo log examples can be provided upon request.

Do you work in contaminated soils?

No. We only work with natural or clean dirt. If the site involves contaminated soils, hydro-excavation with us is not the right fit.

Can I hire you just for private utility locates?

No. We do not sell private locates as a standalone service. Electronic locating is how we hunt for the utilities we are going to pothole — it supports the dig, it is not a separate product.

Do you provide traffic control for other people’s work?

We subcontract traffic control for our own jobs when it is needed. We do not provide traffic control plans or TCP as a service for other people’s work.

Do you work outside Colorado?

Yes — we can work surrounding states on request. Most of our work is in Colorado, primarily along the Front Range.
